I started working in the television field in Sept 1999 working with a local community Television station. In-between 1999 and August 2004 I worked in various roles including VTR, PA, Floor Directing and Audio Assistant for a number of stations including Rogers Community 10, Omni Television, The Biography Channel (Canada) and G4TechTV Canada.
In August 2004 I started working with the TV show “Call for Help” on G4TechTV Canada as a Technical Assistant. Within 6 months became the Primary Technical Researcher. In October 2004 I started appearing on-air in various segments (Including 4 on learning about Mac OS X). I also continued to assist Host’s with research and production of Segments.
Starting in January 2005 I started doing regular Free File on-air segments alongside Amber MacArthur and Andy Walker.
On June 28th 2005 Amber MacAurther and myself released the first video podcast that we called “This Week in Toronto” (The Name is a spoof of the popular podcast by Leo Laporte and Gang called “This Week in Tech”) It was recorded and produced using an iSight Camera, a Powerbook and Quicktime Recorder.
By Episode 3 we had adopted our official name “commandN”. We also welcomed Brian McKechnie as cameraman and post-production editor (He is one of the main reasons for commandN’s success)
When Andy Walker left “Call for Help” in September of 2005 I also began to produce (on top of Free File segments) regular segments including such topics as Installing Linux, Producing Online Video, Product Reviews and Roundups, Microsoft Vista and In-depth MS Office Reviews.
In-between September 1999 and August 2006 I have been involved in over 2000 hours of television programming and more 4000 hours of Pre and Post Production work.
